But I am going back to Interbase days ;) Not a compatibility issue, though. Sometimes bugs in the client library get fixed. So if, e.g., a support issue comes up where events don't work properly, an initial suspect would be that the client lib in use might the IB 5.6 or Fb 1.5.2 version... No client older than 2.0 is going to work with Fb 2's implementation of IPServer, so there's potential for support issues there which won't affect remote clients but will affect deployed systems where e.g. backup is done by running gbak locally, in or not in a batch job that has gbak making an IPServer connection....
