It looks like the build problem was the permissions on the isc_init1 file in
/usr/local/firebird. I changed the permissions to 666 though I would think
this is bad and that made it so I can create a database but now after its
created, I can't connect to it! If I use the "isql" command to connect to
the file directly then it works but if I use "localhost:" before the filename
then I get more operating system errors.
I think there is something wonky in the permissions I'm running things with.
The fb_inet_server seems to not have access to do many of the things it
should be able to do. Here is the output when I try to connect to a newly
[brad@... Quasar]$ /usr/local/firebird/bin/isql Test1.fdb
[brad@... Quasar]$ /usr/local/firebird/bin/isql -u sysdba -p sql
Statement failed, SQLCODE = -902
I/O error for file "/home/brad/Quasar/firebird/Test1.fdb"
-Error while trying to open file
Use CONNECT or CREATE DATABASE to specify a database
The permissions on Test1.fdb is 666 so it should be accessable by anyone!
What am I missing to get these permissions correct?
