No

The majority are localized. Those that are not, please
excuse for now - I will make them when I have the time.
This is a big job, and I want to get out waht I have so
far so that people can start using it. Also, please add
my name to the localizers list in the About box - thanks!

I had to edit the MVPref... file beacuase some of my text
wouldn't fit. I don't know if this can be made
language-specific; otherwise, all the Pref panes need to be
redone to fit the new size, which is wider than before. It
    is now 705 pixels wide.
The Prefpanes archives contain all the pref panes; the
Russian.lproj folders are located inside each Prefpane package.
Thank you all for your hellp and cooperation,
    Paul
P,S, I assume there were no interface changes in 32.b; these
nibs are from version a (and the Prefpanes too). Do tell me
    if this is otherwise

The only changes since 0.32.a is that we added a few strings
to Localizable.strings which were not localizable before.

As to the size of the preference panes, which ones in
particular have to be that wide? You know you could put text
on multiple lines if necessary to make it fit.

Can you? I don't remember which exact pane it was (there
were a number of them). But can you make text for checkboxes
and radio buttons more than one line high? I didn't think
so. At least not for radio buttons. It just resizes the text
area automatically if the text doesn't fit. It was for
checkboxes I think that I had to resize the window because
the text was running off the edge

Yes, I've checked the resizing thing: for checkboxes and
radio buttons, text can only be one line high. At least,
this is the case in Interface Builder that came with OS
10.1.3. I have now translated nearly everything in the nibs
and strings. The main area that's left is some of the error
message at the end of the strings file. Also, if you want my
name in the native language for the About box, here it goes:
    Павел Борохов
I am attaching an updated Russian.lproj folder and deleting
the older archive. This will probably be all I'll do for the
next few weeks at least. Before I "leave", however, I just
    have two questions:
    1) What are "metal" windows? There are metal nibs, and
there's a Metal window pref (which is disabled on my
computer). Do I need to localize metals and how are they
different from regular windows? (is this a Jaguar thing?)
    2) How does translation work? I tried it and the program
said I don't have any translators installed. How to get them
(and maybe provide users with a notice of sorts about how
    translation works in Fire?)
    Thanks again,
    Paul

    Oh well...

I've checked in all the content you submitted so far,
updated the project to include it, and mentioned you in all
    the Credits.rtf files.

I notice, in addition to the localization missing some
strings here and there, that you did not submit the
.FireBundle nibs. This is OK for now but please include in
    the next loc update.

    To answer your questions:
    1) Metal chat windows use the 10.2 and later feature of
metal. This requires a different nib format which does not
work on 10.1. So we made this an option for 10.2 and later
only. The localized nibs don't really need to do much other
    than localize the window title.
    2) Try a more recent build than 0.32.a to see translation in
action (I believe it supports Russian now. Alan just fixed
some things in the last week or two.) The Jan 18 build has
these fixes, and I'm going to post a Jan 21 build with the
    Russian localization integrated.

Wait... what are the .FireBundle nibs? Are they in the source
or something? Don''t exactly see them in the built package...
    Thanks
    Paul

    Fire.app/Contents/Resources/MSN.FireBundle and friends are
what I'm talking about. Each of these has at least one nib
    inside it to be localized.

I am uploading a thoroughly updated Russian localization
package. This includes an updated Localizaed.strings,
updated PrefPanes, and updated nibs. In addition, I have
    localized the FireBundle nib files.
The archive contains three other archives in it, with each
    group of components in them.
Please integrate this into the current Fire release (32b),
as opposed to waiting for the next Fire version
    Thanks,
    Paul

Thanks for the update. The plan is to release a small bug
fix version 0.32.c in the near future which I will integrate
these changes into. We are working on Fire 1.0 as the next
major release which is on TOT (0.32.x has a branch for any
critical bug fixes in the interim.) We'll let you know when
we're loc frozen on 1.0, and give at least two weeks time to
localize it. I hope to work on integrating these
    localization changes this weekend.
