Here's why: One of Fire's best features in my opinion is the alias function (e.g. I can change a friend of mine's display name from something like "I am the god of messaging!" to their real name or nickname so I know who's who on my buddy list. I still want to be able to see what people's display names are though, because they often put things such as an away message or how they are feeling in them. Display names sort of function as mini-profiles and away messages on MSN. If a a Fire user doesn't put an alias in, then Fire should just put in the display name, and preferably update it. Kai |
