Hi, As a proponent of open standards, I was very keen to find an IM for OS X that would talk jabber.... So after reading the OS X IM reviews at: http://www.instantmessagingplanet.com/public/article.php/1582871 pub: February 11, 2003 I immediately tried Fire. Brilliant, many kind thanks to the developers. For someone in a developing country such as myself, this is a pleasure! Amongst lots of other stuff, you're bridging the digital divide :) Anyhow, there are a few issues they list, out of interest I notice that the one I picked up myself as a neat feature of new IM's "Fire also doesn't support the sending of buddy icons." Since receiving works, I figure this should be quite straight forward and wondered if it is considered for a future release? It's being worked on for v1.0 And if they can fix the issue of AIM hanging on connect, it is a part of the 0.99.x releases as well --Emi |

Yeah, 0.99.2 seemed pretty nice and stable. Even MSN works. I like it. -- |

Even trashing the plist doesn't work. :( |

Try one thing real quick. Open the account settings, and re-enter the password, it may have been lost. If that does nothing then: Assuming you have your port number set to 5190, if not, change it below Run this in the terminal: sudo tcpdump -A -ttt -s 0 -w aimlog.dat port 5190 Open Fire, and log into AIM only (if you have auto-login on, hold down shift). <Standard Questions> Is there anything in Fire's Console (Window Menu -> Console Window)? Is there anything pertaining to Fire in the system console (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) </Standard Questions> The file aimlog.dat would be best sent to me directly, instead of the list as it could have everything about your aim connection in there (with the exception of a plain text password, it is hashed). I will look through it, and see if I can figure out what is going on. I have only once seen the aim connection hang, and that was the server's fault. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Graham Booker Texas A&M University gb...@ta...
