This is one I have never seen before: /sw/src/fink.build/octave-atlas-x11-3.6.1-7/octave-3.6.1 fink-package-precedence . panic: memory wrap at /System/Library/Perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level/Cwd .pm line 301. Same thing next attempt at update-all but this time with fontconfig2: make[1]: Leaving directory `/sw/src/fink.build/fontconfig2-dev-2.10.1-1/fontconf ig-2.10.1' fink-package-precedence --prohibit-bdep fontconfig2-dev . panic: memory wrap at /System/Library/Perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level/Cwd .pm line 301. Fink build jobs: 4 Have I managed to get my fink install into some sort of inconsistent state?? Updating Octave 3.60 was a little odd but seemed to go OK after it removed a bunch of octave sub-packages. I don't have that log, it was an apt-get fix I followed the instructions for: While trying to install: octave360-atlas-x11-3.6.0-8 octave360-atlas-x11-dev-3.6.0-8 octave360-atlas-x11-shlibs-3.6.0-8 The following inconsistencies found: Unsatisfied dependency in control-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in odepkg-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in optiminterp-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in optim-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in linear-algebra-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in nan-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in octgpr-atlas-oct360: octave360-interpreter-atlas Unsatisfied dependency in bundle-octave360-atlas: octave360-interpreter-atlas Trying to resolve dependencies... Could not resolve inconsistent dependencies! Fink isn't sure how to install the above packages safely. You may be able to fix things by running: fink scanpackages sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install octave360-atlas-x11=3.6.0-8 octave360-atlas-x11-shlibs=3.6.0-8 octave360-atlas-x11-dev=3.6.0-8 So I did and it seemed like it did. I was also running fink install maxima-x11 around the same time, but it failed on wxmaxima-gtk-12.04.0-4, so I'll come back to that once the current problem is sorted out. I'm only mentioning these things in case running multiple builds at once might have messed things up (I assumed the build-locking would take care of any potential problems by making things wait...)
