What version of units is this?
And what is the content of the file
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/units.crash.log?
(Attach that file to the tracker item, don't dump it into the text box, please).

Did you try to contact the maintainer of this package? It is
normally most effective to contact the package maintainer via
email first. If she/he doesn't reply in a reasonable amount of
time, you can resend your email to the fink-devel mailing list
or open a tracker item.
To get the maintainer's email address for a packagename, type
fink info packagename
in a terminal window, use the feedback options in the 'Tools'
menu of FinkCommander, or check the online Package Database: http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/

The update from 1.85-1002 to 1.85-1003 back in May resolved
a core dump. I wonder if your units package is out-of-date?
