I mainly watch divx and xvid files on my widescreen TV,
and would like to use ffdshow to change the aspect ratio
of my clips automatically to anamorphic 16:9, 768x576
pixels (something like what the Bicubic Resizer Filter
1.3 does, although it is very slow). Using ffdshow I have
to select manually different presets for 4:3, 16:9 and
2.35:1 videos.

Best regards,

Juha

What about using BSplayer http://www.bsplayer.org/ aspect
    controls to easily gain this?
And yes, you can even define custom aspect ratios AND
ofcourse - get them saved! Hoooray!

automatic resizing of anamorphic info stored in the bitstream
is not possible with avi in directshow, but its indeed possible
with more advanced containers, like mp4

currently the 3ivx mp4 splitter passes the anamorphic aspect
ratio info to the decoder by passing the vol (which includes
    the ar info)
currently only the 3ivx and nero digital decoder seem to be
able to handle this vol reading, would be great if an
opensource mpeg-4 decoder could also do it, especially
ffdshow as its really the most powerful one :)

    thanks
