Yeah, the service gets confused if it doesn't recognize the extension at the end of the provided URL. What I didn't mention in my initial query was that I had added the extension to the datastream ID to accomplish this (e.g. "image.tif"). It's not really ideal, because my image formats vary, but it gets the job done... until the version info gets added to the end.

If I can't do anything about that, I may need to resort to a more complicated method to pull in the service.
