Recently I found this in my Log: 2007-07-21 06:59:55,690 fail2ban.actions: WARNING [ssh-iptables] Ban 81.192.114.49 2007-07-21 06:59:55,727 fail2ban.actions.action: ERROR iptables -n -L INPUT | grep -q fail2ban-SSH returned 100 2007-07-21 06:59:55,727 fail2ban.actions.action: ERROR Invariant check failed. Trying to restore a sane environment 2007-07-21 06:59:55,741 fail2ban.actions.action: ERROR iptables -D INPUT -p tcp --dport ssh -j fail2ban-SSH iptables -F fail2ban-SSH iptables -X fail2ban-SSH returned 100 2007-07-21 07:09:55,824 fail2ban.actions: WARNING [ssh-iptables] Unban 81.192.114.49 2007-07-21 11:26:09,158 fail2ban.actions: WARNING [ssh-iptables] Ban 62.103.148.107 2007-07-21 11:36:09,256 fail2ban.actions: WARNING [ssh-iptables] Unban 62.103.148.107 When I look at iptables -L, I don't see anything wierd except that the ban IP is an address rather than an IP number. I have 4 machines currently set up with fail2ban, three show this message, one does not....all have the exact same config and action files (copied from the base installation machine once I got it to work). What is this error message telling me? Richard |
