When I try to copy/move files from a directory to a drive that's mounted via it by using a 3rd party file manager (such as DiskBoss, which you can get at http://www.diskboss.com), it fails when doing so. Here are some of the errors that are shown in the log:

    COPY 11/Aug/2012 18:15:16 Cannot Create Directory (ERR 100:19) F:\backup

I am tearing my hair out with similar errors on an XP machine which I am convinced are due to the way that Extfsd handles folders.  First time I was copying files each > 4G from one one external Ext2 sata drive to a secod Ext2 external sata drive. There was no problems dragging and dropping multiple files into a new empty folder using Windows copy, TeraCopy or FS copy. Due to the large file size, it is unworkable to use Windows copy so I use TeraCopy.

But when I try to drag and drop folders and sub folders on to amounted EXt2 drive, the target drive cannot be found and it is almost as if the copy request cannot create the new folders. Windows XP copy works, but is too slow to use.

There is no problem using TeraCopy or FastCopy to copy folders and sub folders between mounted NTFS drives using TeraCopy and FastCopy. I do not know whether my problem lies in the 3rd party copy utilities or in Ext2Fsd, but since the fast copy utilities are likely to be DOS command based in a GUI, my suspicion is the DOS commands used are not handling or creating the folders and sub folders through Ext2Fsd.

Any help or confirmation of folder copy limitations would be appreciated. At the moment the only way I can copy files to Ext3 formatted drives with these fast file copy apps is to create empty folders on the target drive first.
