Use with isci target

I have an iscsi target LUN (Linux ietd) that shows up (of course) in Windows (2k3) as uninitialized.
ext2fsd sees it as "disk 1" of type RAW.  I can't assign it a drive letter.
    Properties report:
    Vendor IET
    Bus: Invalid
    Product: VIRTUAL-DISK
    Type: RAW
    Serial: 123 (from iscsi target)
    Media: Fixed
    Capacity: - correct number

Dropdown list for drives is empty.
All fields (Status, Mount points, File system, Capacity, Free space) on the bottom are grayed out.

Is this theoretically possible - ext2fsd on top of an iscsi disk?
Shall I grab the sources and start playing?
