Hi, due to changes in the storage and index structure, data files stored by 0.8.1 are not compatible with 0.9. You will have to extract your old data and reindex it with 0.9. The 0.9 release contains a simple class org.exist.Backup which reads a collection hierarchy from the db and writes it back to the filesystem. It is based on the XMLDB API and should also work with 0.8.1. Just try to call bin/run.sh org.exist.Backup xmldb:exist:///db. Anyway, I would be happy if someone writes a good backup/restore tool ;-) Regards, Wolfgang > Hi. > Upgrading from version 0.8.1 to version 0.9 I've discovered that I > cannot browse my data anymore, because user 'admin', in the old data > directory, does not exist. > Is data backward compatibility foreseen? > Is there a simple way to move to the new version porting the data stored > with previous versions? > Or should I write a program that reads all documents using 0.8.1 and > writes them using 0.9? > I've also tried (using 0.8.1) to add the users.xml file in the system > collection, but still eXist0.9 cannot see the user admin. > Thanks for any help. > Michele > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.NET email is sponsored by: > SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! > http://www.vasoftware.com > _______________________________________________ > Exist-open mailing list > Exi...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/exist-open > -- |
