First I apologize for double posting, but, I initially posted this through Nabble and it never appeared in the sourceforge list. Must be something wrong with my account settings. My organization is currently running eXist 1.2.6 on a Solaris 8 build and starting it using the startup and shutdown scripts in /opt/exist-1.2.6/bin. This is working for us, but we are now moving to Solaris 10 servers and I wish to setup eXist to run as a service (we will be upgrading to eXist 1.4 shortly, but, 1.2.6 is our current production version so I wish to get it working). Looking through the eXist docs it seems to me that the Java Service Wrapper would be appropriate to use for the service, but it just won't launch. When I run "/opt/exist-1.2.6/tools/wrapper/bin/exist.sh console" as root I get the following console output: Running eXist Native SML Database... ./exist.sh: ./wrapper: cannot execute I also tried installing eXist 1.4 on the same server and went through the same process and got the same result. The exist.sh script indicates that it is for Solaris, am I missing something? I ran ldd against wrapper for both versions and the response is: ldd ./wrapper: has wrong class or data encoding I have done quite a bit of Googling on the subject, but, haven't' found anyone reporting the same problem. Thanks, Derek |
