The problems that have been reported are in no way preventing serious development usage. I have been using the 0314 version for two weeks now quite heavily and have encountered no serious problem, just a few quirks which are reported to allow for improvement in upcoming versions, not because they are a hindrance to use the current one. In my experience with eXist, which is now about 2 years and during which I have exclusively worked with snapshots, Wolfgang has always immediately provided a new snapshat whenever a serious bug has been reported. Having said that, once you have a snapshot that does what you need, you can usually safely continue using it even if a new snapshot appears, except of course in the case of critical bugs.
