May I reopen the thread about the limits or comfort zone of eXist?
Somebody promised an answer but hasn't given it yet. I learned from a
posting by Wolfgang that depth of nesting does not matter very much.
It would be nice to know, what kinds of problems people run into as
they use larger or more documents. Is there a comfort zone defined by
total size of a collection or some combination of document number and
size outside of which the program begins to deteriorate. If so, are
there 'scale walls' or is it linear. Or are performance limits more a
matter of CPU power and memory than of the software?
I think that was the question Hugh Cayless asked. It caught my
attention, but I haven't read anything that would answer that question.
