Evolutility 4.1 Released

Evolutility - version 4.1 - 02/12/2013

Evolutility 4.1 is a maintenance release focused on bug fixes and UI improvements.
Evolutility now uses NicEdit (instead of TinyMCE) for rich text editing.
It also provides better internationalisation (especially for Japanese language) and improved cross-browser compatibility.

Bug fixes:
3603916 - Modes confusion after export.
3603671 - Validation message not showing correctly in old IE versions.
3603666 - Problem with integer fields validation in Japanese (contributed by Tomokazu Ohno).
3603662 - Problems w/ DB objects names in Japanese (contributed by Tomokazu Ohno).
3603655 - Export filename not handled properly in Japanese w/ IE (contributed by Tomokazu Ohno).
3598335 - Support for multiple LOV's on the same child table (contributed by Ramy Omar).
3603516 - Datepicker icon not always fully shown in details list edit.
3599626 - Invalid format validation for decimal values in Italian (and some other languages).

Evolutility Patch 4.0.1 provides small UI improvements (mostly for IE).

To install the patch, replace on your web site the files "Evol.css", "Evolutility.js" and "Evolutility.dll" by the new version provided with this download.

Evolutility 4.0 was released on 12/12/2011. It adds charting capabilities and a brand new look.

Evolutility Patch 3.6.2

Evolutility Patch 3.6.2 fixes the bug #3177949 where on some browsers the toolbar labels appearing on top of icons.

Evolutility 3.5 is a maintenance release with bug fixes and improvements to EvoDico Wizards.
EvoDico (to use the database instead of XML) is included with Evolutility.

Evolutility 3.3 released

Evolutility 3.3 is getting back to real lightweight by replacing the Rich Text Editor CKEditor with TinyMCE.
It also provides a few bug fixes.

Bug fixes:
2997093 - Dependant LOV problem w/ special characters.

Evolutility 3.2 released

Evolutility 3.2 was released today. Evolutility 3.2 adds a new web form for "Mass Update". It also includes AJAX and CSS improvements, as well as bug fixes.

EvoDico 3.1 released

EvoDico is a database dictionary to store Evolutility metadata directly in the database instead of XML. It comes with an application to build and manage other Evolutility applications.

Version 3.1 was released today. It provides better support for separate databases for the data and the metadata.

Evolutility 3.1 was released today. Evolutility 3.1 adds JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) as an export format, easier access to EvoDico tables, and upgrade to CKeditor 3.1.

Evolutility 3.0 is a major release of Evolutility open source web framework for CRUD.

After SQL Server, it now also provides support for MySQL database.
It adds Rich Text Format with the integration of CKeditor.

Evolutility integrating CKeditor

With the release of Evolutility version 3.0 in a few days, Evolutility will support Rich Text Format fields using CKeditor.

CKeditor is a very good fit because it is open source, stable, multi-lingual, and has a good install base... and DotNetNuke uses it too.
CKeditor is distributed under the GPL, LGPL and MPL open source licenses, or a commercial license. CKeditor code was not modified during the integration with Evolutility. ... read more

Evolutility 2.6 released

With today's release of Version 2.6, Evolutility CRUD framework is moving to AJAX, and adding support for Chinese (simplified) language.

AJAX will provide more dynamic pages and better performance. Search, Advanced search, and Selections forms are now partial refreshes of the page. More will AJAX will follow in the next few months.

With the latest addition of the simplified Chinese translation, Evolutility now supports 10 languages: Catalan, Chinese (Simplified), Danish, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish.

Evolutility most likely to change the way you do everything?

This year SourceForge is opening new categories in its community choice award. One of these is "most likely to change the way you do everything". I'd like to participate with Evolutility, a lightweight framework for CRUD applications which uses metadata instead of code (like SalesForce or Intuit QuickBase).

Because Evolutility uses a very different way to look at applications and can be used for (almost) everything, I may have a chance to win. Also, most successful open source are either alternatives to existing commercial software, or very specialized tools, they should not compete in that category.... read more
