To boot from the network, you must have that. You should recompile your netboot kernel and make shure that, when you run "make config", "make menuconfig" or "make xconfig", you include the driver for your network card in the configuration with a "y" and _not_ with a "m", as a module. If you are not sure which driver works for your network card you can include many of them and the kernel will take care of it...
