BTLib is a small footprint perl library useful for parsing, indexing, and retrieving entries from EMBL, GenBank, and SwissProt flat files.

There are minor changes wrt the previous release:
- BTLib now correctly translates ambiguous nucleotides when performing a reverse complement of a sequence

estscan-3.0.2 and BTLib-0.17 have been released

ESTScan is a program that can detect coding regions in DNA/RNA sequences.

A bug has been found and fixed in the BTLib package. The bug caused the extract_mRNA script from the estscan package to not function properly when parsing RefSeq sequences.

The prepare_data script has also been fixed to properly report the percent of masked nucleotides.

All users preparing score matrices for ESTScan are strongly encouraged to update. Updating is less important for people who only scan sequences with already existing matrices.... read more
