I was having a lot of problems recently and discovered that I had a few old e libraries left over in /usr/share/, after apt had supposedly uninstalled. Once that cruft was gone my git install is much, much better. I keep a stable 1.7.5 install in /opt/e17 and my git install in /opt/e17-dev, and I have ~/.e-stable and ~/.e-dev configurations. I like to help test work with devs with the git install, but if I have problems I can go back to the stable install. > >> 4 - Composing took me almost 60% of opengl performance.
