Further to that, if you are on the virtual desktop that it is remembered as being on, then you get you remembered settings for that window. Not all windows get moved to their remembered virtual desktop either, but again, if you are on the correct desktop, then the settings kick in. It's not just the position that is wrong either. I think we really need an advanced dialog that shows all the remembered settings for all the windows it has remembered, like E16 has (or had, it's been a while since I used E16). Then at least us developers have some idea what is really going on and can help sort out the "that app isn't easily tracked" from the "E is buggy" issues. I know it's a hard job for E to track windows coz not all apps cooperate. Its a hard job for users to know wtf is going wrong with remember settings when there are no tools to help find out whet E is trying to do and what the apps are doing to stuff E up. raster, I think you mentioned to me in the past that E tracks changes to things like window class and title, this advanced dialog should show all information that E is using. In combination with the windows properties dialog, we at least will have some hope of figuring out what is going on. At the moment its like shooting in the dark everytime the remember behaviour changes and our windows don't remember properly. Wiping the config and trying random settings again is no fun. |
