Hi. I run a 2 monitor setup. Sometimes I have an application open on screen 0, but need to move it to screen 1. Would prefer keyboard shortcuts. I find 'Move mouse to screen' in config, and 'window to desktop' but can't find any obvious way to move a window to another screen. Any help appreciated. I current have to close the application down, and then re-open it on the required screen. Very frustrating work-around. Lucas |

Hi, That is an option..... xinerama will, as mentioned on the site, make my display span across the two monitors (the usual way multiple monitors work). Default DR17 action is that each monitor becomes it's own individual screen, with it's own multiple desktops etc. DR17 allows for a key-shortcut that will 'flip' your mouse from one screen to the next, or just to the next desktop (on the same screen), and key-shortcuts that would do the same for your windows (to next/previous desktop), so I was wondering, is there a way to send a open program to the next/previous screen ? But, with more than one virtual desktop, you can grab a window with the left mouse button and then use your hotkey to jump to whatever virtual desktop is desired. The window you are holding will go with you. The same may be true when jumping from screen to screen. With DR17, when running Multi-head, each screen becomes an "Independent desktop" each with it's own "virtual desktops". Sounds weird, is different, but once you are used to it, it is realy realy nice. The only issue is, as mentioned, to get a window from one screen to the next (not virtual desktop to the next virtual desktop) I will try Xinemera, but I don't think it is ezctly what I am looking for. I cannot seem to get any shelves to be created on the second display, so I cannot get a desktop pager to be on the second screen. When I create a new shelve, it appears to be fixed to screen 0. I had asked about this a while ago, but had no response. It does not bother me much, as I flip through the second screen's desktops via key-press, but maybe I should try and fix/resolve that issue.....which will in turn resolve my current issue. Lucas |

Would prefer keyboard shortcuts. I think the most X programms have the -d flag for DISPLAY. There you can tell them on which DISPLAY ( Monitor-Screen ) the programm should be placed. I use this for some programms. ie: Eterm -d :0.1 -g 141x12+0+798 --borderless -e leo "$( xclip -o)" && exit & # leo is another script from me, it just searches dict.leo.org or in short, to open Eterm on my Second screen: Eterm -d :0.1 I have made the experiece that you have to check first on which screen your focus is and then adapt the display.
