i don't believe imagemagick required any extra packages... or, at very
least, all were already installed... i'm beginning to suspect that
imagemagick itself might have been already installed, too (enlightenment
requires it, yes?)

Sorry. By "it", I mean enlightenment. Like, my background image won't
display, menus won't come up. the iconbar boarder isn't right, and there's
that grey login screen background pattern like everywhere...
