    Hello all,
I'm using Enigmail 1.7.2 and Thunderbird 31. Today I generated a new key pair. I don't know what settings I must have altered but now all my e-mails are being encrypted using an old key but they cannot be sent. They get saved in the Drafts folder and I can't read them any more.

gpg: decryption failed: secret key not available

Hinweis: Die Nachricht wurde mit folgenden Benutzer-IDs / Schlüsseln verschlüsselt:
    0xIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII (xxxxxxx xxxxxxx@yyyyyyy.zzz)

I do have the old key still available in my keyring. How do I use it to decrypt my saved drafts?

I don't want any encryption at all. I installed Enigmail because my bank is sending me encrypted statements. Decrypting works.

    Please help.

    TIA
    Chris

If gnupg tells you "secret key not available", then you should ask yourself how this could happen. Does the Enigmail Keymanagement show your old key in bold? If not, then you don't have the secret key. Maybe you have it in a backup or another location.
