    Hi all,

    I've downloaded the compiled Windows-Version of Enblend 3.0 from the site. But somehow I cannot get it to run :-(

    Directly when starting Enblend 3.0 (Windows XP, 1024 MB RAM, 1,8 GHz CPU), I get an error screen that there's a problem with Enblend.exe so it has to been closed. The Windows-error-report is:

    // AppName: enblend.exe
    AppVer: 0.0.0.0
    ModName: enblend.exe
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0
    Offset: 00234216 //

    I've never had any problems with enblend 2.5 and earlier.

    Anyone has an idea how to solve this?

    Thank for any suggestions,
    Ph.

      Try downloading enblend-3.0-noSSE.zip from sourceforge. This version doesn't use SSE processor instructions.

      I've just realized that there's a version called "Enblend 3.0 noSSE". Does anybody know what SSE stands for? Sorry, I've no clue. Whatever, this one can be started (the screen apears and disappers just normally if I dobleclick enblend.exe without any parameters), but as soon as I try to really blend images, there's this application-error again. The error report then says:

      // AppName: enblend.exe
      AppVer: 0.0.0.0
      ModName: enblend.exe
      ModVer: 0.0.0.0
      Offset: 0022d4bf //

      Can anyone help? Thank you, Ph.

      Oh, I haven't seen your message, Andrew, sorry. Hhm, as I've written, still there's this problem. Am I doing something wrong?

      Anyone else with this problem, or is there something with my system?

      Same problems here with Enblend 3.0, Win XP Prof., AMD Athlon XP 2600+

      There's definitely a bug here.
      Same problems here with:
      - Enblend 3.0, Win XP Prof., Pentium III: cannot even run enblend without flags, it crashes as described above
      - Enblend 3.0 noSSE, as above: can run help, but crashes if given any work to do.

      I see this problem as well. Using dependency walker, these problems were found:

      The end of the profiling, just before it crashes:

      Maybe that'll help you, Andrew.

      In this other thread (http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1685658&forum_id=420370), Bill Clarke describes a way to solve this. But unfortunately I'm not skilled enough to reproduce his steps. Maybe someone else is and would be so fascinatingly nice to provide a compiled version for download? I would like to do so if I could only understand how to use the information given by Bill :-)

      Bill recently put a fixed version online that can be downloaded! (Thank you again!) See in the other thread mentioned above for information and link.

        Just a heads up, Bill's patched enblend 3.0 works great, but his version is 21MB(!) when unzipped. The cygwin files included with it are almost 4.5MB.  :(
