I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1 Digital, connected via
s/pdif to a jvc 5.1 reciever. My problem is that even
though both master and pcm volumes are at max, my
volume is still too low. I have to pump up my reciever
volume insanely much to be able to hear movie dialogue
etc. I just recently switched from ALSA because I
couldn't control my digital output volume at all with
ALSA, but it had a much higher volume by default.

I have the analog_front_boost enabled, though the word
"analog" implies that it won't matter much if I were to
disable it. I've searched just about everywhere in
order to try to find anyone else with the same problem
as me but with no luck.

Hope you've got some ideas,

Isak

the volume to -20dB do hear a sound! To have loud sound I
have to go to at leat -10dB! All my bars in the alsamixer
