I have some problems with 8.0-rc2 and GNUstep:

(1) None of the file operations works in dired mode other than
marking. For example I mark a bunch of el files to be byte
compile and when I press "B", it gives me the error- "No file
on this line".

(2) None of the defaults seem to work in GNUstep. I have
tried to change the scrollbar width with different values, but
nothing changes. I have also tried to set the default dir, but
the file open dialog still defaults to my home base directory.

(3) The mouse pointer is changed to a text pointer in the title
bar and in some dockapps in Window Maker.

Thanks,
Charles

    (1) What OS are you using GNUstep under (e.g., linux, freebsd)? I cannot
replicate under OS X, but will check GS/linux when I can. Any other details
of when/how you encounter this (writeable or unwriteable directory, etc.) will
help narrow down the cause. Do you get the same or a different error trying
    "Compress"?

    (2) How are you specifying these? Also, it is likely that these problems are
only occurring for certain defaults for individual reasons, so explicitly listing
every default you are seeing a problem for will be helpful.

    (3) As far as I can tell this is a GNUstep and/or WindowMaker bug, and will
    investigate in GNUstep/back.

Closing. (1) could not be replicated. (2) relates to scrollbar width setting,
which will not be implemented under Emacs-on-Aqua, and default
directory, which will stay at home directory for now in keeping with
OpenStep UI convention. In the new Emacs.app project, last-directory
persistence across sessions will be implemented, also in keeping with
OpenStep conventions. For (3), this is likely a WindowMaker and/or
GNUstep bug; in any case, it will be looked into if necessary in
    Emacs.app.
