My feeling is that there even could be distinguished between basic manual installations on web space in a hosting environment for 1-10 users who only want to synchronize contacts and calendars to their devices, and a work-group setup on separate hardware or a root server. Anyhow, a 500 MB disk space requirement for the bare setup is not true when mentioning additional space for uploads and mail attachments. The requirements should be read as MINIMUM requirements without space for additional software like XAMPP. eGroupWare is not depending on the OS. AFAIK php 5.1+ is required. All additional required php modules should be listed here, as you do by defining dependencies in an environment with apt, if you don't mind. Thereby any user willing to clarify the requirements with his provider knows about the dependencies in detail. Is web server support for .htaccess files required? Is Microsoft SQL Server fully supported and tested? A beginner might have further questions: What permissions must be granted to the eGW DB (user)? Do I need a full-blown IMAP server or is a free-mail account sufficient for a base setup? BTW, 'Client Imap Server' is 'Imap Server' actually, typo? Thanks in advance, Sebastian Linked entries: https://community.egroupware.org/egroupware/index.php?menuaction=tracker.tracker_ui.edit&tr_id=3117&no_popup=1 |
