i was just wondering if anyone could help me with this.
when i tried to run edge1.29 RC 3 with the game "Earth Bound Doom" (www.zxdware.net/ebdoom) i came across the error "Edge Engine: OpenGL: SOFTWARE Renderer!" can you explain what this means, as i dont quite understand it, if you need any of my laptop specs then just ask. is there somthing i can download in order to get it to work, as Jdoom source worked before, but now that comes up with a large error including something along the lines of "OpenGL accelerated" and "use allow program list" or something similar. ive been trying for ages to get this to run, and iam becoming frustrated.
i would be greatful if any one could help me with this problem, as soon as possible.
Thanks for your consideration.

The software OpenGL is unaccellerated and runs way too slow to be playable (e.g. 1-2 FPS).
You probably just need to install an OpenGL driver for your videocard. Use google to search for "opengl drivers", or try this link:

It is possible that your videocard doesn't support 3D acceleration at all, but that is unlikely. unless your laptop is really old.

I have a similar problem on an old laptop that I got for free, where EDGE won't run and gives me the same error mesage. It's weird because I've played other games using OpenGL (EG outlaws with GL patch and Duke Nukem 3d with GL sourceport).
I don't really mind though, since I got that laptop for free and hardly use it, and I only need EDGE on my desktop PC, but I just thought I'd offer that for comparison.
