#116 Get rid of manual prompt for vob location

eclipse (49)

When importing a team project set, we have to manually chose a vob for the project ("Please select the folder containing the vobs with the projects to import"). It would be really nice if we didn't have to do this, since because of this we can't use the clearcase plugin for importing projects when we are running Eclipse headless.

Maybe this information could be stored in the psf file? Or the plugin could figure out which vob the project belongs to by looking at its path?

  • Hi,
    Interesting idea.
Can you attach an psf file here? Where do you usually store your psf?

  • Hi,

I have looked at it. Most information is already included in the the reference attribute for the project tag. What was missing is the vobs root. That is not always straight forward to get but I guess for your purpose ( unix and dynamic views) we can hardcode "/vobs". I implemented the solution for you to test:

If it is not enough e.g. if you have projects in your project set that are with other vob root than "/vobs" then we need a more advanced solution.

Please let me know if this is enough for your purpose?

According to my testing it works perfectly! Who knows what will happen in the future, but right now all our vobs are under /vobs, so it works well for us.

    Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

  • Great that this quick fix worked! Yes it is not future proof but hey it works for the moment.
Official release will be in 2.2.27 after new year.

    Happy X-mas !
