I'd like to be able to use ECI based modems for bonding
ADSL lines together, at the moment the tools seem to
only support 1 modem, as they search for the first usb
device matching the vendor/productid.
I would propose having options to specify the device,
possibly --device /proc/bus/usb/001/003 for example.
this is where I tracked down it only being able to
support 1, from line 1833 in the nortek eciadsl-pppoeci.c
* We search for the first USB device matching
ST_VENDOR & ST_PRODUCT.
* usbdevfs must be mount on /proc/bus/usb (or
you may change the path
* here, according to your config
fdusb = pusb_search_open(vendor, product);
speedtouch modems can supposedly support this
functionality, and the ppp config seems quite simple.
it seems to be just adding 'multilink' to the
ppp/options file and having 2 seperate files, one for
each channel, specifying the different --device option
in the line like this:
pty "/usr/bin/eciadsl-pppoeci --device
/proc/bus/usb/001/003 -vpi 0 -vci 38 -vendor 0x1690
-product 0x0215 -mode VCM_RFC2364"
pppd will automatically bond these channels once
they're up, and it'll show up as a single ppp interface
with 1 IP address.
if I can be of assistance please let me know...
