I have been using the eboard interface for the past couple of days on both ICS
and FICS. I had to modify proto_fics.cc to accept the aics% prompt for ICS.
Here is the simple diff if you are interested:
diff proto_fics.cc proto_fics.cc~
In my opinion, eboard is much better start at a linux /Unix ICS interface
than xboard or gnome-chess. A few things that I noticed would make it
the perfect ICS interface:
- obviously, being able to examine games online ( I understand
this one is in the works)
- A tone/bell option along with the highlight move option.
- Sounds for other actions like draw offers/checkmate/adjournment.
- A sought graph window like CClient and Blitzen on Windows.
- A player/who listing tab
- A games listing tab
- The ability to use ICS timeseal program
I would be happy to lend a hand if any of the above projects are
not being worked on and you feel that they are something that
could be useful.
cheers - Warren

This functionality is almost there with the seek ads window.
A graph would be a nice addition.

I'm applying. Also, I'm adding an "iset defprompt 1" command to server

It already uses timeseal, the Documentation/FICS-Timeseal.txt file talks
about it. (The clock+padlock icon on the bottom left of the screen becomes
orange-ish when timeseal is on, blueish when not)
Sound warnings are being worked on also.
