#34 chattr should only update ctime on effective alteration

I run "chattr -R +i dir" after having added new files to this directory,
just to make sure everything is protected.
But that would update the ctime for every file, even if they had already the i flag.
Would it be possible to only update ctime when chattr implicates an actual change of the attributes set?
