I'm using mke2fs 1.42 on an Ubuntu 12.04 workstation. When creating an ext4 journal (mke2fs -O journal_dev) on a separate SSD device it appears that mke2fs still zeroes the partition instead of relying on discard/trim to zero it (like it does when creating inode tables). Is this intentional?

    Thanks,
    Steve
