Hello,

I am using a Intel X520 card (2*10G ports) on a Dell R720 with a Debian Linux 7. ixgbe driver version is 3.19.1.
Our sfp+ are not Intel ones, so we are using allow_unsupported_sfp=1 option.

cat /etc/modprobe.d/ixgbe.conf
options ixgbe allow_unsupported_sfp=1

These ports are mounted into eth4 and eth5.

lspci |grep X520

When I use a non Intel sfp+ on both ports, only eth4 is seens by the system.

I also try to change the X520 card, same results. I try with new non Intel sfp+ the problem does not seem to come to it.

I don't know what am I doing wrong or if it is a bug. Any help would be appreciate.

I'm sorry, but we're not able to test every SFI module and that's why the warning is present. There are a lot of modules that fit in the cage that don't even follow the spec.

If this is an approved module and there are prolblems, please let us know, but if this is not, it is not possible for us to test your module remotely.

I'm closing this issue, but I'd suggest that you submit this request through the sales channel where you purchased the adapter.

You may not be enabling support for the second port, have you tried "allow_unsupported_sfp=1,1"?

    Thanks,

Thanks to both of you for your time. allow_unsupported_sfp=1,1 did the trick.
      Regards.
