I am trying to install 0.6.25_20090521 on a Linux machine that does not have Internet access. The installation appears to have hung with the message 'Cannot perform operation. Computing alternate solutions, may take a while: 2/15'

I have also received this message
    Jun 27, 2014 3:18:56 PM org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultRequestDirector tryConnect
INFO: I/O exception (java.net.SocketException) caught when connecting to the target host: Socket closed
    Jun 27, 2014 3:18:56 PM org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultRequestDirector tryConnect
    INFO: Retrying connect

Which makes me think that even though I'm installing from a zip file, either the plugin or Eclipse is still trying to access the Internet. Is that the case? And if so is there a way to install on a machine that does not have internet access? Could I copy it over from another machine where it's already installed?

I suggest that you install the current 'testing' version on a Linux (or other) machine with Internet access using the update manager. Then copy the highest number versions of $ECLIPSE_HOME/plugins/org.epic. and $ECLIPSE_HOME/features/org.epic. from that installation to $ECLIPSE_HOME/dropins/epic/plugins/org.epic. and $ECLIPSE_HOME/dropins/epic/features/org.epic. on the offline machine, respectively.
