    Ive got portable apps Eclipse running on a  stick, with the perl that comes with xampp

    I can get output to  a console if i put the full paths into the extrenal tools configuration ie
    /C "cd  E:\PortableApps\EclipsePortable\workspace\ww\  && E:\xampp\perl\bin\perl.exe  -w "

    but as soon as a I substitute these with the variables, as suggested in
    I get 'empty variable' message for both
    ${container_loc} and ${resource_name}

    is it me , or the situation  Im running it in ?

    I advise against using External Tools because if you run scripts that way you won't be able to debug them with EPIC. Have you tried simply creating a run configuration of type Perl Local for each script instead (or do you have reasons not to do that)?

    is there a 'read-my-lips' howto for configuring this ?
