    Hello,

on starting the debugger on simple hello-world script I receive the following errors

Unable to connect to remote host: 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1:5001
    Compilation failed in require.
     at /.../workspace/spmlPerl/debugtest.pl line 0
        main::BEGIN() called at /.../workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.epic.debug/perl5db.pl line 0
        eval {...} called at /.../workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.epic.debug/perl5db.pl line 0
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
     at /.../workspace/spmlPerl/debugtest.pl line 0
Can't use an undefined value as a symbol reference at /.../workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.epic.debug/perl5db.pl line 7601.
    END failed--call queue aborted.
     at /.../workspace/spmlPerl/debugtest.pl line 0

The script itself is running fine.

    Looking with

    netstat

    and

    telnet

I cannot find someone listening on port 5000. But when I start "

    netcat -l 5000

" the debugger seems to react because the first line of the error message above changes to

Unable to connect to remote host: 0:0:0:0:0:0:0:1:5001

    My setup:
    ubuntu 11.04
    perl 5.10.1
    eclipse 3.6.2
    EPIC 0.6.40
    padwalker 1.92-1

    Any help is appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Hans

I suspect some IPv6 trouble, try starting Eclipse with option -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true and see if this helps.

    Great, that helped.

Seems like its time to learn some IPv6 stuff… ;-)

Thanks a lot for this ultra fast help!
