It is common practice for commonly used 'tool' scripts to be created WITHOUT an extension.

For instance 'tool' rather than 'tool.pl' or 'tool.perl'.

However, the run/debug setup in EPIC doesn't allow a file with no extension to be specified. If you do, the "Run"/"Debug" button is ghosted, and you are unable to execute the script.

This is, imho, a serious limitation.
