after installing the perl 0.3.0 plugin, i am having
trouble opening up any kinda project by right clicking
on the project in the navigator view.

BUT, sometimes it does work, most of the time it does not.

By selecting any type of project and choosing open
project from the project menu, all project open up fine.

In addition, once a project, any kinda project, is
opened, i am able to right click, using the navigator
window and have the menu pop up.

I am seeing this too, also on Linux, with Eclipse 3.1M5a.
Here's the backtrace in the .metadata/.log file when I
    right-click on a project.

I have this same problem in IBM Rational Web Developer.

I have found that switching to the Resource perspective
somehow allows the context menus to work correctly on the
    projects.

This problem is particularly annoying because if we run a
CVS comparison in the Web perspective it indicates that the
workspace and remote code are identical when they are not.

I recommend using the Resource perspective until it's
    resolved.

I also had this same exact issue when using v0.3.0 of the
    EPIC plugin.

    My Eclipse environment is:

    OS - WindowsXP SP1
    Java - 1.4.2_08
    Eclipse - Version: 3.1.0 Build id: I20050627-1435
    Other Plugins:
    - MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench 3.9.310
    - Eclipse ClearCase Integration 1.0.3

However, I found that once I updated to the latest test
version of the EPIC plugin (v0.3.12) the issue disappeared.

This problem seems related to an invalid class cast which
can no longer occur as of EPIC 0.4.0. Therefore, closing as
    'Out of date'.
