Starting a new project from an existing Perl module I
had to find out that some files were not detected as
Perl files. They live in the bin- and t-directory, have
no .pl extension, but start with #!/usr/bin/perl -w.
Hence they should be viewed, syntax highlighted etc. as
Perl files

    Is it true that the Eclipse file type identification only uses the
    file extension? If so then what does Eclipse say to do with
    files that don't have file extensions? Other programs actually
    look into the file to see what it "looks like". But if EPIC never
    even gets called for the file...
