DSPdap-2 is coming soon with the following improvements
* Li-ion battery support with built-in charger (USB)
* SD/MMC card support
* Line-in recording and digitizing to SD card
* SDRAM - more memory for more codecs and LCD
* Small form factor (9cm x 5cm)

The Project's Forum is active with a topic named "General Discussion".
Any kind of queries and suggestions are welcome here.
Hope you find it useful.
Added WAVE_DEBUG option. This option can be used to send the decoded stream as a wave file over the USB and captured using USBIO. This was required for posting the wave sample on the website.
OPT_MUL optimized as a macro instead of a function. Some MIPS savings here.
Finally, the DSPdap-player source code is out. This is the main player firmware of the DSPdap player. This firmware is responsible for operating the DSPdap hardware as a stand-alone MP3 player or as a USB pen drive.
The MP3 decoder code is based on the high quality MAD audio decoder. As of now the player is known to play MPEG-I, Layer-III files up to 320kbps bit rates in stereo.
Refer to the firmware programming procedure at http://dspdap.sourceforge.net
This is the first release of the dspdap-bootloader source code. The bootloader is used to load the firmware from CompactFlash into the DSP on the DSPdap board. The bootloader resides in the EEPROM.
DSPdap-flash is the firmware for flashing the EEPROM on the DSPdap board. This is the first release of DSPdap-flash.
This is the first release of the DSPdap player firmware. It consists of 3 packages: EEPROM flasher, bootloader and player firmware. The firmware is capable of functioning as an MP3 player when in stand-alone mode or a USB pen drive when connected to a USB host PC. The music quality is excellent.
The project website http://dspdap.sourceforge.net contains detailed information on programming the DSPdap hardware.... read more
The DSPdap project website has been updated. http://dspdap.sourceforge.net
Hardware documentation and "How to build?" procedure has been added. Firmware programming section will be updated soon.
This is the first release of the DSPdap hardware, complete with Schematics, Bill of Materials and PCB layout.
DSPdap is a DSP based Digital Audio & MP3 Player with USB pen drive functionality, using a Texas Instruments TMS320C55x DSP and CompactFlash card.
