The DSpace developer community is pleased to announce the release of
DSpace 1.2.1 Beta2. This release contains a number of bugfixes and some
improvements to the batch importer.
The beta can be downloaded from the files area at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/dspace/ or from CVS using the tag
It is intended that this will be the last beta before the release of
1.2.1, which will hopefully occur next week or the week after, depending
on how many more bugs are revealed.
Feature request #1062167 is regarded as a critical bug to be fixed
before the 1.2.1 release. All other bugs on the tracker are to be held
over for 1.2.2. If you know of any other bugs not on the tracker, please
add them with plenty of context information and stack traces etc. and
draw them to the attention of the dspace-devel list.
There will not be a doc release for this beta. Instead, please obtain
the latest docs either from CVS or from

[ 1062167 ] decentralized administration/authorization
So is this in the new 1.2.1Beta2 release?
I don't see any different behaviors when logged in as a collection
admin -- still can't edit the collection, for instance. And I don't see
any community_admin Actions when I try to Edit Policy at
Am I missing something?

No you're not, it isn't in 1.2.1b2. Corrections to bring the behaviour
into line with the docs are in progress.
Lieven Droogmans at KU Leuven has some ideas of how to develop the
decentralization of admin further (after 1.2.1), and has posted them for
discussion on the devel list: -
