Is there anyone out there who is a genius with XML in Java?
I have fixed the XML munger for the add-on mech to (re-)discover that
the tomcat web.xml file is sensitive not to the document structure
specifically but to the order in which the elements appear. That is,
the filter declarations must appear at the top, and the filter and
servlet mappings must appear underneath. So I now have a challenge to
fix the class to understand how to restructure the Document object that
is created from all the component dspace-web.xml files to produce a
usable output. Does anyone have any idea how this might be done? At
the moment the code uses JDOM, but for no particular reason other than
that it was there; I am open to changing to an alternative package if
it's sensible. There are output format options that I can set, but I
don't think any of them will be any use, having gone through the API
Failing that, does anyone have any other suggestions? The only one I
have at the moment is that we split the dspace-web.xml into sections for
each of the major components of the final web.xml document and have JDOM
build it sequentially from those.
Or perhaps I'm missing something obvious?
