Digital Library Program Manager

The Libraries of the University of California, San Diego seek application and nominations for the position of Digital Library Program Manager.
The Digital Library Program (DLP) encourages, facilitates, and supports the collaborative creation, management, delivery, and long-term preservation of digital assets in support of the Librariesí mission and goals. The program reports to the Associate University Librarian, Technology Services and is a key component of the Librariesí 2006-2009 Strategic Plan.
The Digital Library Program Manager:
∑ Provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the Librariesí Digital Library Program.
∑ Coordinates associated activities across the Libraries.
∑ Assumes primary responsibility for policy development, the establishment and promotion of best practices, and the adoption of community standards.
∑ Leads the continued development of the Librariesí Digital Asset Management System (DAMS).
∑ Provides expert advice to librarians, faculty, staff, and other partners participating in the creation of digital collections.
∑ Promotes and articulates the Librariesí vision of its Digital Library Program as central to the research, teaching, and learning mission of the University.
∑ Seeks new opportunities to expand the Librariesí corpus of digital library assets through collaborative relationships with relevant librarians, faculty, staff, and external partners.
