I've got this extremely annoying problem that has been bothering me since the first time I tryed DRI. Setting up DRI was an easy task, so I set out to get some cool GL apps to try with my new funky system. Most of these newer apps worked just fine. Quake3 flowing like the wind, glxgears rotating happily. I think I first ran into the problem when trying to compile some XMMS vis-plugins and cthugha. The configure script is trying to figure out my "GL-setup", and sometimes it fails to find my gl/glu libs. Most of the time tho, it can't find GL/glx.h. Ofcourse I know that glx.h IS where it's supposed to be .. right next to GL/gl.h which strangely enough it DOES find. Now, my own lame theory is that these old apps are incompatible with DRI and really need a separate Mesa-installation. But since Utah-GLX doesn't support 4.1.0 .. this feels like a desperate solution. This is my setup btw: Slack 8 linux-2.4.7 XFree86 4.1.0 Matrox Marvel G400 /usr/lib/libGL* -> /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL* /usr/include/GL/ -> /usr/X11R6/include/GL/ Any theories you might have that I can try out are greatly appreciated! //Mogwai |
