PCI automatically disables BIOS on videocards that aren't first. (don't ask me :) Anyways, the problem is in reinitializing the videocard after it's been disabled. S3 ViRGE's can't really be reinitialized without booting their bios for a relative example. I think the problem with the Voodoo's is that the current DRI/X 4.0 stuff for 3dfx isn't really multihead programmed yet.
