Chances are that your motherboard's chipset is the restriction here.

Other things are intercompatibility with the video card.  For
some reason, there are many boards that advertise 4x AGP, but
the Matrox G400 is listed as incompatible with the 4x implementation.  The
FIC KA11 for one, which is one of the
boards that I use...

Then again, I could be totally off the mark here, with your
restriction being mga software-related.

Finally dri works again with v2.4.0-test9 ( and reiserfs :)) )
The only Problem i'm having now is that agp
work only in x1 mode :
[drm] drmAgpEnabled succeeded for AGP mode 1x
how can this be changed ?
Anyhow is there somewhere a dri config file ?
