Sorry for the late post to this topic, but is anyone still experiencing problems with this? I just recalled that I had the same problem about a year ago, before blender was open-sourced. I found a possible workaround for the problem for that old dynamic binary, perhaps it might work with the latest version. Try rendering everything in the same window as the 3d view. DO NOT render anything in a separate pop-up window. I don't remamber how to configure blender to do this, but it was a simple menu setting. I had no lockups after that. I haven't had time to try the new blender (or use the old one) but hopfully this will help you until the problem is actually fixed. I remember early versions of QERadiant having similar lockup problems, but they went away with a new release and updated drivers. sm...@wa... wrote: >>Mmm, perhaps the snapshots are broken, but if so it's strange that >>this sort of thing only happens with one app. Can anybody shed some >>light here? >> >> >Well this is not that much help, but I've had Blender implode without >attempting to render anything, it is / was IMO an unstable program. > >This is was well before snapshots, stock LM 8.1 > >At the same time UT / Q3A / RTCW / etc worked perfectly. > > > >>>Sorry, but i am not subscribed to the list, so please CC: me in >>>reply... >>> >>>Thanks to all dri developer for their work, but i have only ONE >>>problem that can't make me happy with these drivers. >>> >>>I have a radeon 8500 and i can't render in blender more than *one >>>time*. >>> >>>Please, can someone more expert than me do some tests with blender >>>to discover if it is a driver bug or a blender issue ? >>> >>>When i try to render an image a second time blender quits >>>unexpectedly with this message: >>> >>>X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range >>>for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 128 (XFree86-DRI) >>> Minor opcode of failed request: 9 () >>> Value in failed request: 0x18000ca >>> Serial number of failed request: 1039 >>> Current serial number in output stream: 1039 >>> >>>I use Debian Unstable with XFree 4.3.0 unofficial packages and >>>kernel 2.4.21-pre6, dri snapshot r200-20030404-linux.i386.tar.bz2 >>>and blender 2.26 >>> >>>Thanks in advance for your help :) >>> >>> > >Liam >---- >it depends > > >------------------------------------------------------- >This SF.net email is sponsored by: ValueWeb: >Dedicated Hosting for just $79/mo with 500 GB of bandwidth! >No other company gives more support or power for your dedicated server >http://click.atdmt.com/AFF/go/sdnxxaff00300020aff/direct/01/ >_______________________________________________ >Dri-devel mailing list >Dri...@li... >https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dri-devel > > > |
