I'm not sure what's wrong, but __glXLastContext sounds like it should be in the glx module. Did the glx get loaded before GLcore? Do you load GLcore explicitly in the modules section of xorg.conf? In general GLcore gets loaded automatically by glx, no need to mention it in xorg.conf. If that doesn't help a look a your full Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf might be insightful. Another thing to check is if you have mixed .o/.a and .so modules in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/... Any .o or .a modules that have a corresponding .so module should be deleted or moved out of the way.
